Religion shouldn't be allowed to govern anything aside from you and your relationship to God and your family. I do not think there is any correct form of religious government. We are all individuals trying to exist in our individual world. A sweeping declaration of laws and rights crafted by a religious background seems like it could be calm and well thought out, but the issue of daily life and small decisions can run amok. Even big decisions could be 'interpreted' any way the protagonist of the decision wants it to be in their favor. Obscure religious texts and rewording of holy texts make them almost obsolete. Take away the layer of religion and you would really have the same system, a bunch of people hungry for pushing their agenda. Religion just acts as an inarguable backing of those acts. Without the religious reasoning, the power people could at least appeal to pure human reasoning and logic.
But shouldn't the perfect religion have the purest and easily logical jurisdictions? Yea, maybe, but what happens when placed in imperfect hands? Would there ever be a justifiable assembly of perfectly versed religious officials to govern people? I don't think so, there are parts of every religion that people dispute over all the time based in opinion of a word, or a nuance or small crap. And even if they actually were a perfect assembly, would the people believe it? Could that ever happen?
